Potential for offshore wind does have headwinds and is variable depending on weather conditions. But, I would like to point out another significant source of untapped energy – the Gulf Stream Current – which flows continuously. Cyclo Ocean Inc., is a engineering firm specializing in the capture and conversion of river, tidal and ocean currents, with focus on the Gulf Stream off the coast of Miami, Florida, where it flows within eight miles of a major market. The Gulf Stream has potential to supply a substantial source of renewable energy for the eastern seaboard of North America, more than offshore wind, for less cost.
