The AES Corporation AES is a world-wide power company, operating 132 generation plants and 13 utilities in 27 countries serving over 12 million people. In addition, it has more than 2,000 megawatts under construction in six countries. Creating electric generation from renewables is a substantial part of AES’s energy portfolio. It operates more than 1,700 MW of wind capacity in the U.S., China and Europe; and it owns and operates utility-scale solar power plants in a joint venture with Riverstone Holdings LLC. AES is also involved with advanced energy storage projects.
